Hotel Karwendel Pertisau Achensee Tirol Zimmermädchen Chronik Geschichte Entstehung

On the 17th July 1957 the café Karwendel was opened for the first time by Rosa Kirchmair.

From the 1st January 1960 the café was in possession of Karla and Sepp Rieser and was managed by them.

The café was built in the Viennese café-style and in 1965 it was altered to a café in the Tyrolean style.

The great passion of Sepp Rieser was farming, however. So in 1967 he could purchase the “Stegerhof” in Eben and extend it to a great Simmental cattle breeding with more than 100 head of cattle.

By hard work and with luck and skill also the café Karwendel converted from a single café into an exalted four-star hotel.

In 1973 the hotel Panorama was built and in 1977 the hotel Karwendel was extended.

In 1983 the hotel Karwendel was extended again. 9 years later a storey was added above the bank to the hotel Panorama.

In 1989 the family Rieser has built in the bathroom with whirl-pool, sauna, steam baths etc. in the basement of the hotel Karwendel.

In 1990 was bought the country house Karwendel at a distance of 150 m.

In the country house Burgi and Manfred Rieser look after the lodging and the physical well-being.

In the following years all the rooms and bathrooms in the two houses have been renovated totally.

In 1998 the hotel bar with the café and the room made of Swiss pine was built in. The kitchen was brought up to date in line with the latest technical advances and even a self-cleaning ceiling was built in the kitchen. All storerooms were completely renovated.

In 1999 in addition there is the alpine inn Gramai at a distance of 8 km that is directed by Adi & Gabi Rieser. In 2004 the two houses Karwendel and Panorama which stand opposite one to another are joined with a completely new wellness facility. www.gramaialm.at

In 2006 the rooms in the hotel Panorama are renovated. Snug rooms of Swiss pine in the Tyrolean style of about 34 m2 as well as the Karwendel suites of about 50 m2 were created.

The secret of our success is a very simple recipe. The first place always took the family. And the highest good and of overriding importance always were, however, the numerous patrons. To them we pay all our attention.

Our philosophy is as follows: We don’t aspire to become the biggest, but we aspire to be among the best hotels of the region. This will be our challenge and at the same time our best motivation for the future.
